What's happening...

Have you ever wanted to try fishing before?

Would you like to introduce a member of your family or a friend to fishing?

If the answer is ‘Yes’ then come along to one of these one-hour long taster fishing sessions run by the charity Get Hooked on Fishing!

All sessions are with fishing tackle provided and help from licensed angling coaches. Get Hooked on Fishing’s friendly staff, volunteers and peer-mentors will always make you really welcome.

Come along and Get Fishing!

Booking: None required – just turn up, sign-in and get fishing!

Cost: £10 per person per hour, with all equipment provided.

Times: 11.00 – 15.00. Sessions are in one hour slots between 11am and 3pm.

Venue: Northala Fields, Northolt, UB5 6UR

Type of Fishing: Simple coarse angling tips and skills for beginners using a “whip” rod and bait with tips, skills and activities that can be applied to all kinds of angling.

Tackle & bait: Provided free of charge – just come along – no need to bring anything!

Rod licence: A free Environment Agency fishing licence is included for participants at this event

Perfect for: Families of all ages and experience levels – complete newcomers very welcome! Parents and grandparents – just bring the kids along and have a go yourself – it doesn’t matter if you are an experienced angler yourself or a complete beginner – come and get fishing!

What happens on the day: The angling activities on offer are designed to encourage adults, children and young people to discover what angling is all about and take up angling. You’ll find out how to use fishing tackle and bait to catch fish and return them safely.  Volunteers and staff overseeing the event will also provide you with more info about your local club or fishery so you know how to go fishing again next time.

Tackle & bait: Provided – just come along – no need to bring anything!
