Then sign up for this Get Back Into Angling session and by the end of the day you’ll be ready to go fishing again.

Run by friendly, quality assured coaches at great venues to give you the skills and confidence to get back out there and catching fish. Use of tackle, flies, lures or bait is provided free too. ‘Try it lessons’ make it easier for newcomers of all ages to get into this superb sport and learn a new skill that can last a lifetime. The courses are professionally run and aimed at complete novices with our friendly coaches taking you through each stage step by step, teaching you everything you need to know to be able to have an enjoyable day’s fishing.

Perfect for: Beginners who want to learn fly fishing skills or anyone who used to go fishing but has stopped for whatever reason. If you have thought you’d like to start going angling again, but were too busy with work or family, here’s the ideal opportunity to come and get back into angling!

What happens on the day: During the day you will cover the following topics: tackle choice, line profiles and their usage, leader material and knots, assembly of rod, reel and line, casting, fishing approach for Stillwater’s, and retrieve.

Tackle & bait: All rods, reels and lines are provided for the day.

Disability information: Coaches licensed by the Angling Trust are provided with essential best practice guidance on working with and planning events for disabled people. Please check with the event contact for specific details of facilities available.
