Then sign up for a FREE Get Back Into Angling 4 hour session near you and by the end of the day you’ll be ready to go fishing again.

Run by friendly, quality assured coaches at great venues to give you the skills and confidence to get back out there and catching fish. Use of tackle, flies, lures or bait is provided free too.

Booking: Please get in touch with Martyn Green to register. This is necessary to ensure sufficient tackle is prepared for anyone wishing to attend. (Own tackle is not necessary.) For anyone not in the club, they will need to secure an Environment Agency day ticket licence (get yours here), especially if you decide to go for a couple of trout at Hatchlands afterwards.

Type of Fishing: Get Back Into Game Angling

Perfect for: Anyone who used to go fishing but has stopped for whatever reason. If you have thought you’d like to start going angling again, but were too busy with work or family, here’s the ideal opportunity to come and get back into angling!

What happens on the day: Angling instruction to encourage adults and young people who haven’t been fishing for a couple of years or more to get back into angling. Licensed Level 2 Coaches will show you how to use key items of tackle and lures, flies or bait before moving onto the waterside to catch fish and return them safely. The coach will also provide you with more info about your local club or fishery so by the end of the session you will have enough confidence and knowledge to go fishing straight away.

Tackle & bait: Everything is provided – just come along. Feel free to bring your own if you like.

Disability information: Coaches licensed by the Angling Trust are provided with essential best practice guidance on working with and planning events for disabled people. Please check with the event contact for specific details of facilities available.
