What's happening...

The Angling Trust’s Get Fishing campaign has joined up with World Fishing Day 2018 to give as many people as possible the chance to get into fishing.

Come and try fishing at our South West World Fishing Day event and get into angling. It’s a great way to get the whole family out there doing something different and will show kids new skills to learn in the outdoors. Everything you need to catch your first fish or learn more about angling is provided and our friendly volunteers will make you really welcome.

Cost: FREE

Times: 10.00 – 14.00

Venue: Chew Reservoir, Woodford Lodge, Chew Stoke, Bristol, BS40 8XH

Website: www.getfishing.org.uk

Perfect for: Families of all ages and experience levels – complete newcomers very welcome! Parents and grandparents – just bring the kids along and have a go yourself – it doesn’t matter if you are an experienced angler yourself or a complete beginner – come and get fishing!

What happens on the day: The angling activities on offer are designed to encourage adults, children and young people to discover what angling is all about and take up angling. You’ll find out how to use fishing tackle and bait to catch fish and return them safely.  Volunteers and staff overseeing the event will also provide you with more info about your local club or fishery so you know how to go fishing again next time.

Tackle & bait: Everything is provided – just come along. Feel free to bring your own if you like.

Disability information: These events are organised to best practice guidelines on working with and planning events for disabled people. Please check with the venue contact for specific details of facilities available.
