BOOK NOW: Club and Coach Development Roadshows

20th September 2019

Richard Hadley, Angling Trust Coaching Centre Manager and Lead Safeguarding Officer explains how the new Club and Coaching Roadshows could benefit you – plus a great free offer…

Our Coaching and Club Development Teams Roadshows are based on the feedback from the national coaching conference and will be aimed at up-skilling clubs to grow and support their members, along with providing access for coaches to the new CPD modules, on a local basis.

Each day will be split in two with lunch provided, to make the most of the opportunity to support club and coach development.

Mornings will consist of round-robin tabletop workshops, to include topics such as developing health and safety policies, the Voluntary Bailiff Service, making the most of your volunteers, Fishmark accreditation, using social media and the excellent Clubmate club administration tool.  Plus, we are looking to include hot-topic tables that can be suggested by you.

The afternoon will cover Continuing Professional Development for coaches. We are offering one or two of three modules depending on demand and location. These will be: Canals and Rivers, Casting Principles or Shore Angling. For club representatives we are offering Time to Listen training or UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children (which is a Level 2 requirement too), plus a three-hour workshop on club development and how to find funding.

Cost for the day is now reduced to just £19.99 per person – this includes a copy of Get Fishing by Allan Sefton* which is endorsed by the Angling Trust’s Participation Team. It’s a brilliant beginner’s guide to angling and a great tool for coaches. This bright, lively hardback book is worth £9.99 – that means you are in effect paying just £10 (…and getting a free lunch!).
