Richard Hadley, Angling Trust Coaching Centre Manager and Lead Safeguarding Officer explains how the new Club and Coaching Roadshows could benefit you…
I’m planning a series of Club and Coach development “Road Shows” for the autumn. The shows, based around the feedback from the national coaching conference, will be aimed at up-skilling clubs to grow and support their members, along with providing access for coaches to the new CPD modules, on a local basis.
There will be a range of morning round-table groups who’ve been invited to help and to support your club, or you as a coach. We are aiming for this to be a two-way process which will help both parties find out more about each other and how they can work collaboratively to further local angling development.
Lunch will be provided, followed by afternoon CPD opportunities including:
- “Time to Listen” safeguarding workshop for Club Welfare Officers and committee members
- Development Planning and making funding applications for Clubs.
- Possible First Aid or UK Coaching safeguarding courses.
- Coach CPD, Fishing canals and rivers, Principles of Casting. Fishing from the Shore.
The autumn Road Show will be visiting Durham, Manchester, Shrewsbury, Dartmouth, Oxford, Guildford and Cambridge. Venues and dates and cost TBC in next month’s newsletter (cost per delegate is likely to be around £30 per person).
