Richard Hadley, Angling Trust Coaching Centre Manager and Lead Safeguarding Officer encourages you to take the leap with our latest participation programme this March….
Kick start your coaching year by running your own Spring Into Fishing event this March. It’ll give your club or fishery a boost and raise your coaching profile. Our Participation Team list all of the Spring Into Fishing events on popular events website www.getfishing.org.uk, in news and social media promotions. In terms of what you can do, well, previous delivery partners and coaches have told us they’ve simply and easily promoted their Spring Into Fishing session in local schools or cafes.
In the last two years Spring Into Fishing has attracted nearly 2,000 newcomers to try fishing. You can be part of that success too.
Our Partnership Development Officers will be only to happy to support you, especially with paperwork and arranging a fishing licence waiver so that everyone can fish for free. In return, all we ask is that you help collect simple contact details of attendees. This is just so we can contact them with info about where and how to go fishing again – it’s part of our huge “Get Fishing” campaign which so far has introduced more than 65,000 people to angling at over 1,500 events!
For help to organise your Spring Into Fishing Event:
In the north of England? Email James Roche, Partnership Development Manager (North)
In the south of England? Email Dean Asplin, Partnership Development Manager (South)
Top Tip: Finish off the Spring Into Fishing event with a written blog or news article which the Get Fishing Team will publish and promote, thus exposing 1,000s of people to your contact details. What a great start to the summer.
