Spring into Fishing is back for 2019! A series of free, fun and friendly activity days around the UK for families this March.

Spring Into Fishing events are run by the Angling Trust and funded by the Environment Agency, and are a great way to get everyone out doing something different. Get the kids outdoors and learn new skills and best of all it won’t cost a penny!

Everything needed to learn more about the wonderful world of fishing is provided on the day, together with events and games, and our friendly volunteers will make everyone really welcome. We’ll provide you with free tackle, bait, instruction and more info about local clubs and places to go fishing so you know what to do next time.

Spring Into Fishing sessions are for all ages and experience levels, including complete beginners.Fishing is a fun, exciting, cheap and healthy outdoor activity plus it’s a great way to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet surrounded by nature. So whatever level of angling experience you have, come on down and get fishing!

Cost: FREE

Booking: Please let us know you’re coming by registering on Eventbrite. Then all you need to do is turn up and get fishing!

Times: 10am – 3pm. Please select one of the 1-hour time slots to book your 15 minute (minimum) ‘have a go’ session with one of our fantastic angling coaches or volunteers. After your family’s short tuition session an area will be provided to put what you have learned into practice.

Type of Fishing: Coarse fishing

Perfect for: Families and kids of all ages and experience levels. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

What happens on the day: The angling activities on offer are designed to encourage adults, children and young people to discover what angling is all about and take up angling. You’ll find out how to use fishing tackle and bait to catch fish and return them safely. Spring Into Fishing Volunteers overseeing the event will also provide you with more info about your local club or fishery so you know how to go fishing again next time.

Tackle & bait: It’s all provided – just come along – no need to bring anything!

Disability information: Our “Let’s Go Family Fishing” volunteers are provided with essential better practice guidance on working with and planning events for disabled people. Please check with the venue contact for specific details of facilities available.
