Spring into Fishing is back in 2020!
A series of FREE, fun safe and friendly family activity days around England this March.

Run by the Angling Trust and funded by the Environment Agency, Spring into Fishing events are a great way to get the whole family outdoors away from screens, learning new skills and discovering a world of natural wonders. Free for the whole family with equipment provided on the day, all that’s left for you to do is pack a picnic and get your family fishing adventure started.

From showing you what to do with bait and tackle to offering top tips and expert instruction, qualified coaches and volunteers will be on hand to make everyone really welcome. You can be sure your family will have all they need to discover the wonderful world of fishing and get hooked on this great outdoor activity.

There’s a whole lot more to fishing than the fish – so come and Spring into Fishing. You’ll get to spend a bit of time together, find out loads about fish and the water they live in and best of all it won’t cost a penny!

We’ll provide you with free tackle, bait, instruction and more info about local clubs and places to go fishing so you know what to do next time. Spring into Fishing sessions are for all ages and experience levels, including complete beginners. Fishing is a fun, exciting, cheap and healthy outdoor activity plus it’s a great way to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet surrounded by nature.

Cost: FREE

Booking: Please let us know you’re coming by registering on Eventbrite (link to come). Then all you need to do is turn up and get fishing!

Times: Join us between 10:30am – 2:30pm. register to book your ‘have a go’ session with one of our fantastic angling coaches or volunteers. After your family’s short tuition session an area will be provided to put what you’ve learned into practice so you can spend time together fishing.

Perfect for: Families and kids of all ages and experience levels. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult

What happens on the day: The angling activities on offer are all fun, safe and friendly, and aimed at encouraging adults, children and young people to discover what angling is all about and take up fishing. You’ll find out how to use fishing tackle and bait to catch fish and return them safely. Spring into Fishing volunteers will also provide you with more info about your local fishing club or fishery so you know how to go fishing again next time

Tackle & bait: It’s all provided – just come along – there’s no need to bring anything!

Disability info: Get Fishing event coaches and volunteers are provided with essential better practice guidance on working with and planning events for disabled people. Please check with the venue contact for specific details of facilities available.
