Never been fishing before? Always wanted to try? Puzzled by all the kit, what to do and where to go?
We’re running beginner sessions for juniors and young people who don’t know where, how or who to go fishing with, and need tackle to get into angling.
Run by friendly, quality assured coaches at great venues to give you the skills and confidence to get out there and get fishing. Participants will be taught how to fish or improve their skills and then be supported to keep going fishing after the sessions finish. Just let us know who is coming.
So come on – Get Into Angling!
Cost: Free or very low cost – ask when you book your place.
Perfect for: Anyone who wants to get into fishing and isn’t sure how to start. If you or someone you know is looking for the perfect introduction to an activity that will get you outdoors, teach you new skills, set a challenge and give you something to do with friends and family, here’s the ideal opportunity to come and get into angling!
What happens on the day: Help will be given to encourage young people who haven’t been fishing or only have limited experience, to get into angling. Licensed Level 2 Coaches will show you how to set up fishing tackle before moving on to catch fish and return them. The coach will also provide you with more information about your local fishing club and places to go. By the end of the Get Into Angling sessions you will have enough confidence and knowledge to go fishing straight away and will have met people to go with.
Tackle & bait: Everything is provided – just come along.
Disability information: Coaches licensed by the Angling Trust are provided with essential best practice guidance on working with and planning events for disabled people. Please check with the event contact for specific details of facilities available.
